If you’re interested in adopting tweens or teens, there’s a weekly TV show (that you can watch from your computer) that addresses issues specific to older child adoption.

The show is produced by the folks at You Gotta Believe!, The Older Child and Permanency Movement, Inc., based in New York state. You Gotta Believe! is a homeless prevention program that seeks to find permanent adoptive homes for teens and preteen children in foster care.

Here’s how to watch the show:

Log on to www.bcat.tv/bcat any Thursday at either 12 p.m. or 8 p.m. (EST)
Hit the #2 Television under the “BCAT Live Stream” heading (Ch35/68).

The upcoming schedule is as follows:

July 7, 2006 – Former Foster Youth Advocate Roundtable
Angela Eger, Richard Wilkerson, and Aileen Rosario speak about youth permanency and the importance of getting a permanent home as an older teenager.

July 13, 2006 - Anthony, 14, a Nassau County Youth speaks about his desire and reservations about the possibility of being adopted. Rebecca Mendez and Elizabeth Gervais appear on the program as well.

July 20, 2006 - This show features the four new Teen Adoption Public Service Announcements produced by AdoptUsKids that feature real life parent-teen situations and highlights the fact that parents do not have to be perfect people. These public service announcements are scattered throughout this program that also includes a discussion with 18 year Keith with host Angela Egers. A third segment of this program includes a discussion on the importance of Cable Access Television.

July 27, 2006 - Three part show that starts with Pat O’Brien & Angela Egers co-hosting a discussion with two 18-year-old young men named Trevor & Jason. The second segment is a discussion Angela has with 17-year-old Michelle. The third segment is a discussion Chester Jackson & Pat O’Brien have on the importance of saving cable access television.
