If you are a member of the church of Christ, and are in the process of adopting, read on for a potential source of funding: Sacred Selections.
The brainchild of Florida College alumni David and Dana Carozza, Sacred Selections was founded after feeling the need to “do more.” The Carozzas had previously disseminated information about adoption through their previous businesses. They estimate approximately 800 adoptions resulted from that small action.
They established Sacred Selections, and in 2006 the organization received its 501(c)(3) status. After being granted non-profit status, the Carozza’s were able to provide funding for four adoptions, and hope to assist with another ten in 2008.
Beyond “talking the talk,” the couple also “walks the walk.” They not only staff the organization full-time now, they also house couples in their home who are in the area to complete their adoptions. They have been tireless advocates, traveling around the country raising funds for the organization, as well as counseling prospective placing mothers and prospective adoptive couples.
Members of the church of Christ must have a completed and approved homestudy, in addition to other criterion listed on their website.
According to the site, members of the church may assist in raising funds in a myriad of ways. If you are a member of the church of Christ, but are not in the process of adopting, and would like to contribute to this worthy ministry, information can be found on the Donor Page of the website.
There are many reputable faith-based organizations that place children, but funding is a little harder to come by, thus it was wonderful to unearth this gem of a resource for financial assistance.
If you are an alumnus of Florida College, and would like more information about this organization, consult the latest copy of FC Magazine, wherein the Carozza’s are profiled on pages 18-19. My thanks to T. Gale for pointing out this resource!

Great information Marie. When we adopted our daughter we thought we were going to get a 5k grant. An organization had been saying they would help or we probably would not have spent 16k. They ended up not helping, but that’s ok. We are making payments on our home equity line and our daughter is worth so much more. Hopefully, funds like these will help more children find Christian homes.
Wow, Julia! Did you have a contract with them that you can hold them to?
