The middle leg of the journey took a couple of hours. The weather was nice, the flight was on time and I got several inches of sock knitting done. I feel like the
Yarn Harlot and her Mighty Traveling Sock! (And I do have pictures of it as she does, which I will have to post).
I spoke to our social worker – she, the foster mom and the kids will all meet us at 10am tomorrow morning! I can’t believe we will finally get to meet them!
After touching down in Minneapolis/St. Paul, and having a very hasty meal (we only had a little over an hour between flights and they were at gates very opposite each other!), we boarded the plane for Memphis, TN. On this particular flight, the three of us were seated at the four corners of the globe. So, the flight attendant moved some folks around and we got seated together.
Nosey-body that I am, I saw the guy across from me with one of those One-Year Bibles in chronological order. This one was by F. LaGard Smith. We struck up a conversation and it turns out that we attend the same church (albeit different congregations in different states!). Well, weird coinky-dink aside, turns out that he knows the part of the country we’re traveling to (and these are small, small, rural towns). And, as with everyone, the conversation turns to why we’re traveling. Sitting down? This man and his wife have a daughter who is best friends with our kids foster mom! Yes! She lived three houses down from them growing up. Weirded out yet? Well, it gets weirder! They’ve met my kids! This couple just happened to be at a mutual function in a neighboring state, and the foster mom had the kids in tow!
God is clearly directing this one …
