This week, I’m reviewing some of the parenting blogs featured in the book,
Blogosphere: Best of Blogs, by Peter Kuhns and Adrienne Crew. Here are links to the previous posts in the series:

Mom Bloggers and Dad Bloggers
Dad Talk - http://www.dadtalk.typepad.com/
I’m a sucker for newsy blogs that serve up information spiced with personal reflection, so I enjoy Dad Talk. Lotsa great stuff here. The writer includes a “Fertility” category.
Getting Pregnant - http://www.blog.gettingpregnant.com/
This blog isn’t updated regularly, but the information on it is very helpful. It’s completely newsy, with short snippets and links to articles about how to use a pregnancy test, diets for pregnant women, pregnancy complications, fertility treatment, etc.
A Little Pregnant - http://www.alittlepregnant.com/
If you’re offended by irreverent writing, you’ll want to skip Julie’s blog. I, frankly, find her “madcap misadventures in infertility, pregnancy, and parenthood” quite entertaining. She has a witty style and a loyal readership who post oodles of comments. And, if you’re interested in reading infertility blogs, check out Julie’s “Blogs Aplenty,” where you’ll find links to dozens upon dozens of infertility blogs.
20 Years of Birth Stories - http://www.navelgazingbirthstories.blogspot.com/
“Navelgazing Midwife” posts detailed, real-life stories about births with which she has assisted.
Three Kid Circus - http://www.threekidcircus.com/threekidcircus/
This entertaining blog chronicles the adventures and misadventures of one mom who has three children under the age of 6. Read it when you need a quick pick-me-up.
Exploring Adoption – http://adoptionblogs.typepad.com
This is my blog, so it would be in really bad taste to review it (Must See!! Best Ever!!), so I’ll tell you what the reviewers in
Best of Blogs said about it:
“Adoptive mother Laura Christianson posts fresh and informative stories dealing with the realities of adoption. She combs the Web for news or research reports to comment on and peppers her blog with practical advice for adoptive families such as financing an adoption or adopting a child from outside the United States…The site is a good resource for finding the latest news about international adoptions, unscrupulous adoption practices, and general information about infertility issues.”
They also mention that I have written “several” nonfiction books about adoption. That is incorrect. I am currently writing my first nonfiction book about adoption. I’m glad the authors of Best of Blogs have such confidence in me! I’ll do my best to crank out “several” adoption books during the next few years.
