Are you involved in leadership in your church? If so, check out the brand new blog
Christianity Today just launched. It's called
"Gifted for Leadership" and it's designed specifically for Christian women who are "capable, called, and gifted leaders."
Amy Simpson, Executive Editor of Resources at Christianity Today International, writes:
Unfortunately, many Christian women in leadership feel alone in their calling. They need a place where they can converse about the issues they face, encourage one another, and challenge each other. They want something different from the women’s ministry resources and events that discuss issues unique to women. They want tools that visit topics that are not unique to women, but that approach them from a woman’s perspective.
I like the fact that Amy recognizes women whose leadership role is at home, "corralling kids and their friends and busy family schedules, bringing order to what could easily be chaos."
Lately I've been thinking a lot about women in leadership as I finish writing my second book,
Adoption Support: A Handbook for Starting an Adoption Support Network in Your Church or Community.
In 1998, I founded an adoption ministry at my church, and it's been going strong ever since. One of the most satisfying aspects of being involved in a ministry is watching those I've mentored step up and become leaders themselves.
What about you? In what leadership capacities are you serving or do you feel God calling you to serve this year?
Have you considered launching an adoption ministry?
