In my
previous post, I began reviewing parenting blogs that were recommended in the book,
Blogosphere: Best of Blogs, by Peter Kuhns and Adrienne Crew. Here are more blogs:
Celebrity Baby - www.celebrity-babies.com/
If you can’t resist keeping up with the latest-greatest rumors and gossip about whether Angelina Jolie is having a c-section or where Jennifer Garner was spotted with her baby this week, you’ll love this blog. The design is clean, inviting, and readable.
Crazed Parent – www.crazedparent.org/
Written by Charlene Prince Birkeland, a freelance journalist and former Blogging Baby contributor, this fun blog is for stressed-out, imperfect parents (doesn’t that include all of us who are parents?!).
Family Scholars- www.familyscholars.org
Did you know that 77 percent of 9- to 14-year-olds have TVs in their bedrooms? Or that a single 40-year-old woman is more likely to be killed by a terrorist than to ever marry? This blog contains lots of interesting news reports of topics of interest to families, such as Children of Divorce, Fatherhood, and Reproductive Technology.
The Funky Stork – www.thefunkystork.com
This blog is specifically for expectant fathers whose partners are pregnant (not adopting). It provides the basics of pregnancy for dads-to-be and discusses the role of the dad. “Tools for the Clueless” contains articles on what to pack for the hospital.
Literary Mama – www.literarymama.com/interact/blog/
Another one of my favorite sites, Literary Mama is not just for moms, but for writers. It is structured as a literary magazine, so you can read the blog, creative nonfiction stories, fiction, literary criticism, poetry, author profiles, and reviews. The 20 or so writers “explore ideas and emotions that may be outside the usual scope of commercial writing.” Literary Mama is “a home for beautiful poetry, fiction and creative non-fiction that may be too long, too complex, too ambiguous, too deep, too raw, too irreverent, too ironic, and too body conscious for other publications.”
