If you’d like to learn more about the life and writing of best-selling Christian author, Karen Kingsbury, check out the link to an article I wrote about her for the Sept/Oct. 2006 issue of Today’s Christian magazine.

The article is titled, “Boomerang Blessings” and it discusses the adoption of her three sons from Haiti as well as adoption themes that recur in Karen’s books.

  1. I like Kingsbury’s writing and the inclusion of Christian themes in such compelling stories. But I detest the way she continuously portrays birthmothers in her writing. We e-mailed back and forth on the subject once.

Eh, Kingsbury is okay. But I’d love to find a writer that respects birthparents in their writing.

I agree with Jenna, I don’t like the way that she has her birthmothers be shifty, or uncaring. Every birthmom I’ve ever known loves her child more than life, not forcing adoptive parents to “pay more” for a child as was the case in one of her books.
