If you know anything about me by now, you know I am fond of
Adoption Stories on the
Discovery Health Channel. If you aren’t familiar with the formula, each episode of the show follows a couple on their adoption journey. One of my favorite parts is when they show the family getting ready to go and pick up the kids – and, guess what? Tonight, that’s me!
Our good friend and brother is
reprising his role as chauffeur, and making the supreme sacrifice of picking us up at 3:00am, driving us 45 minutes to The Big Airport by the City to our North, and, along with his lovely wife, will be
Diva-sitting for us. That’s love!
Our plane leaves, Lord willing, at the crack of dawn. We have
only one(!)layover (a different state this time,
sorry Mary!), and should be arriving in Another Big City, Another Hour Away, early afternoon tomorrow.
I’m excited beyond belief, but fighting a virulent side effect of a new asthma med (yes, that one…the one you really don’t want on an airplane or as a woman who would need to stand in a two-hour line to visit the Ladies Room), which is tempering things just a bit!
My son has been visiting his sibs (empty rooms) today, knocking on their doors and having pretend conversations with them, in between announcing our imminent departure every few minutes!
Hubby, meanwhile, has been staring at the family picture we took when we were all together a couple of months ago; that, in-between doing a “last minute dash” of things needing to be done, while I pack.
Once again, I’m going to try to
blog on the road, and hope that we don’t run into
wonky connectivity again!
Stay tuned for Countdown to Finalization – Leaving CA!
