I just got the news that we have one more adoption hurdle down – actually, what we hope and believe to be the last hurdle. However, we do have to hold our collective breaths, pray a whole, whole lot, and wait (hopefully, the latter is for the last time as well!). This is the final phase, and barring any other unexpected setbacks, our adoption should be finalized within a matter of weeks.
By the end of this week, Lord willing, we should know the date that these children will officially be members of our family!
So now begins the real nesting! We will do a little more “tweaking” on their rooms. Our daughter has a birthday in a few weeks, so there is a birthday to plan. Additionally, her new big brother has a birthday next week, so there’s that milestone to celebrate as well!
It’s hard to believe that it is really almost here! After so many months of conceptualizing, plotting, planning and praying, I see the light at the end of the tunnel! I can visualize having three children and the fun ( … ahem … chaotic fun!) that life with a family of five will be! (Well, actually six … our cat would be grievously offended (assuming she reads my blog and notices the omission) if we didn’t count her!)
I apologize for the stream-of-consciousness rambling post today, but the excitement is so high around here today, it’s palpable and I had to share it with you! We’re in the home stretch and I hope to continue to share it with you. It may be a nostalgic reminder for those of you who have BTDT**; or a message of hope for those of you further back on the adoption path. Stay tuned!
Today is one of those wonderful adoption days filled with hope. We’ve had so many of those bleak waiting days, and it’s nice to have great news like this to fortify us for the coming days!
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith (2 Timothy 4:7)
